Is software quality fake news?

This American Life raises a profound but obvious point about truth telling. I was brought up to know that  lying is a bad thing. With a tech education, I believed facts are a good thing.


As a software tester, I measure and evaluate to produce data that is the closest to reproducible "truth" I can. Showing facts and data help drive consensus and allow teams to make best possible decisions.


Facts are hard find. We humans are emotionally driven.

But if we can't strive for fact-based decision making processes, it makes working together  so much harder.


Our world is  busy and confusing. Without relying on facts,   science, technology, business, politics  software quality, and even getting along, is so much harder.
